Made in Heaven but watched by us

I am not sure why and how this idea got into my mind, but at some point few years back, I told to myself that I am going to attend as many marriages as I can. Marriages where I feel happy being there, marriages of my friends, when they are going to welcome a new ‘era’, I feel I should not miss it. I feel important. I feel needed and responsible. And its definiely fun. Its not important, though, for me, how many I’m going to attend but what reasons I gave to myself for not attending. There is no doubt each of us want to attend all of these marriages, except that we are so much ‘unmovable’ from our varied clutches. Best of the reasons are no leaves available and family constraints. There is validity in these reasons and one cannot keep attending all the marriages that happen around him. I am not sure if there is any solution for this (or any other similar problems), but ya I should say that I am proud of what I did. I crossed this barrier many a times and will continue to do so. Sometimes I failed. I just realized that I missed eleven precious occasions like those, which I wanted to be a part of but couldn’t, most of them being very recent. I wish I could be there.

I wanted to make a list of all those marriages which I missed to convey my wishes, one more time: Malli, OP, Sai Ramya, Anil’s Sister, Bharat’s Bro, Neha, Nitin, Rakesh, Sainath Reddy. I already know I am going to miss few more in the coming days, but I don’t want to put their names. I am sad myself for not going to be.

50% of all my leaves are planned for attending them. That’s happening for the last four years or more already ! The rest of my vacation is for my trips and going home. While finishing this post, I tried recollecting all those instances, at least to get a number, how many marriages I must have been a part of. The count is : 36 ! (as per Feb 2012). For records, I am not counting all those marriages from my childhood. The count is sort of, marriges that I attended out of my own conscience and responsibility.

This year is already turning out to be a crazy one for getting into bondage. Especially in my age group, its a race. And its becoming increasingly tough to manage my trips !

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Lots happen before marriage. Someone do not want to marry, some wants to delay it, some misses their loved ones next to them, some has to be forced, no-option-left and everything else. But in the end, its definitely a happy start. That’s the single most observation I have in all these weddings. All weddings, the bride and the groom are happy (tensed and worried at times, but definitely happy for their marriage).

For all those who are little worried about this whole idea, it isn’t that bad. Give it a try.

If marriages are made in heaven, and if I’m attending them, I have already seen heaven. And ask me how beautiful it is.

Blessings,
WorthvieW

P.S. : I have a marriage to attend in few hrs.  And, about my marriage, don’t worry at all, I wont be late  (if not already late 😛 ), I will be joining the club. I have to.
