Thank you is the word which we use to express our thankful feelings when someone helps us.  Your day cannot complete without saying this word to someone. You even say Thank God in many instances. Thanking God doesn’t require to know any language though 😉

When you travel/living in a country where English is not widely spoken and you don’t understand the language much, then the first and best word/phrase you should learn to show your willingness is  “Thank you”.

Also if you are unaware, it is worth knowing the fact that the International Mother Language Day is celebrated worldwide annually on on 21 February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism.
