The Indian music maestro, Rahman has two Oscars for the film Slumdog Millionaire.Rahman took one Oscar for the best score and another for his song Jai Ho from the film, a rags-to-riches tale set in the slums of Mumbai.

27 years ago, Bhanu Athaiyya made history when she became the first Indian to win an Oscar.Bhanu Athaiya won the Oscar for best costume design for Gandhi in 1982.

Best Cinematography: Anthony Dod Mantle for Slumdog Millionaire

Best Adapted Screenplay: Simon Beaufoy for Slumdog Millionaire. “The cast and crew of the film told me so much about India and writing,” said a proud Beaufoy.
