Many countries celebrate World Teacher’s Day, established by UNESCO in 1994, on 5 October as their Teacher’s Day. In fact, every country has a different date to celebrate this special day because the idea of celebration is paying tribute to local educator or an important milestone in education. Why is Teacher’s Day celebrated?

That’s a stupid question 🙂 Teachers day is a special day celebrated to pay respects to your beloved teachers and show gratitude towards them. It is an anniversary event to honor them for their special contributions in a particular field area, or the community in general.  Best wishes to all our Teachers, Faculty, Professors who have helped us directly or indirectly in being a part of our conscience. Hope they are having the best of their life.

There will atleast one (or more) person who might be very important in all of our lives. Just remember their importance and the impact they had on our views/ideas and the overall perspective about the life.

The very thing that comes to the mind is that I never even gave respect to any of my faculty when I was in my B.Tech. This generally is the case with most of us, I think its more to do with the ‘way’ our college life goes ! We generally are more attracted to our school teachers as they are the first teachers. First impression does matter. Isn’t it ?

Teachers day Celebrations!

In our School days, we used to celebrate Teachers day by giving lovely Happy Teachers day cards and arrange party for the teachers. But you can do more these days.
Here are some ideas:

  • Give handmade teachers day cards. They will surely love it.
  • Dance for teachers day celebration
  • Do role reversal. Be a teacher to your teacher.
  • Prepare a short speech on teachers day [ But don’t be a Chatur from 3 Idiots 😉 ]
  • Write a letter penned with heartfelt words
  • As a group, take them out for lunch
  • Try this. Every student must write one positive thing about every teacher they know and stick it on a chart and these charts must be given on teachers day

This is just to express our gratitude and sincere respect to all those teachers in our life, specifically and including our parents who are the teachers and guides all through our life.

Some times when a guide in your life is missing at some point of time, a friend comes up from the corner and takes that slot for u. Indeed a friend in need. Thanks to them too. I learn a lot of things from my friends. Especially the younger ones these days. They remind me to stay young. I think sometimes in the line “Talli, Tandri, Guruvu, Daivam”, we should add “Talli, Tandri, Guruvu, Mitrudu, Daivam” – (“Mother, Father, Teacher, Friend n God”)

“We and Teachers start from the same class room, we reach many heights; But they stay there in the same class room and are happy seeing us reach heights … !!!! ”
