If you’ve never visited Vancouver before, you’re in for a treat. Located on the west coast of British Columbia, it’s a popular tourist spot for a wide variety of reasons, from its artistic scene to its local beauty and the friendliness of its people. Despite being a big city, there’s a real community vibe there that you’ll experience when you talk to the people.
There’s also a lot to do there. In fact, if you’re going to Vancouver and you’re hoping to make the most of your time there, you’re going to want to make yourself an itinerary to make sure that you see and do everything you want to.
The good news is that we’ve done the hard work for you and created this simple four-day itinerary that you can follow. Here’s what you should do during your visit to the city.
4 Day Vancouver Vacation Guide
Day #1
On your first day in Vancouver, you’re going to want to explore the city, whether that’s by strolling through Chinatown or whether you’re getting to know Granville Island. One option here is to opt for a guided tour on a tour bus, but we find that it’s equally rewarding to stroll around on foot.
Day #2
Vancouver is known for its vibrant arts scene, and whether you’re checking out works by local artists or whether you’re visiting the Vancouver Art Gallery and seeing some of the country’s most well-known art collections, you’re sure to find something you’ll enjoy. In the evening, you’ll want to head out for a bite to eat, and Vancouver is unlikely to disappoint you. You can find pretty much any type of cuisine that you could ever hope for, so feel free to be adventurous.
Day #3
On your third day in the city, why not go on a movie tour? There are plenty of tour operators out there who’ll be more than happy to show you where some of the most iconic scenes in movie history were shot in and around the city. If that’s not to your liking, another option is to visit the Museum of Anthropology and to take in a little culture and history.
Day #4
What better way is there for you to round off your visit than to leave the city by embarking on an exciting Vancouver cruise? It’s only natural to feel sad at the end of a holiday, but leaving the city by boat is a great way to combat those post-vacation blues.
Conclusion
Now that you know just a few of the highlights of Vancouver, it’s over to you for you to design your own itinerary. Feel free to use ours as a basis and to add and remove from it as needed, and if you can’t quite fit everything into four days then perhaps you should consider staying a little longer.
Remember that you can often save money by booking things in advance or even by buying tickets in bulk if you’re traveling as part of a group. Vancouver is also a great spot for shopping, so you’ll want to pack light and take only the essentials so that you can bring things back – whether we’re talking about gifts for your friends or souvenirs for yourself. Happy travels!
