5 Resources Every Photographer Must Know About

In the words of Detin Sparks, “Photography is the story I fail to put into words”, these words are so profound I can only agree.

You may not have heard of Detin Sparks but the following English idiom has perhaps been mentioned to you before- a picture is worth a thousand words.

Putting thought to these two statements, pictures contain in them moments and memories. They also evoke feelings in us. I am guilty of this especially if the photographer just took the perfect shot.

It takes me back to that moment and I get to appreciate what is going on in the photo. Photography has evolved and today we are using phones to get really good shots.

However, if you love the art of photography you do own a camera. Personally, I do own a basic Sony camera that does well for me. I have friends who are photographers and I appreciate the work they put in. To get that memorable shot that will leave you in awe, there are 5 resources every photographer must know about.

1. License Stream Live

Top of the list of the 5 resources every photographer must know about is License Stream. This gives photographers the ability to earn from their work. LicenseStream is an online platform that allows people to post their content.

It is a customized store front for digital content and all transactions are done efficiently. When you take that sunset shot or the busy city life, you may find someone who wants it as a wallpaper.

I personally take lots of sunset and sunrise photos, I would definitely pay for a good shot. The platform allows you to take a tour and request a demo for your business. This allows you to comprehensively understand the magnitude of work that can be delivered courtesy of License Stream.

2. Live Books

Another resource of the 5 resources every photographer must know about is Live Books.

It is a platform that provides templates for building a website for whichever business. The templates allow creativity in the website building. It is a free website hence it allows you to direct your clients to see your amazing content and the website is easy to create.

The website also has a blog that gives information to photographers on ways to improve their professionalism and engaging clients on their custom websites. The end game is to increase sales and give a professional outlook to your business.

3. ShootQ

ShootQ is another resource created mainly for photographers. As a photographer, the platform allows photographers to work on their work, taking breath taking shots. All the paper work that involves businesses is done courtesy of ShootQ.

It gives you a professional outlook as a business. It provides a screen for task scheduling all in a snap shot. Your business gets templates to choose from for emails, contracts, questionnaires, reports and invoices just to mention a few. ShootQ makes the sales process easier for the photographer.

4. Labprints

A software that is both comprehensive and a solution, it definitely is a among the top 5 resources every photographer must know about. It allows photographers to be linked to professional labs.

The labs give photographers tools that they need. The easy to use interface allows you to engage with your clients and gives you a professional outlook as a photographer. You get to create beautiful custom designs too.

5. Digital Photography School

If you just purchased a camera, this is the best resource you can utilise. Like myself who owns a very basic camera, I shall devote time in the Digital Photography School once I get a better camera.

The digital era allows you to learn from wherever you are in the globe. Just like you place reminders on your phone, Digital Photography School offers daily tips, free tutorials and resources.

There is no better place to learn your photography and using your knowledge to get amazing photos. Moreover, you can take part in challenges just to check your progress and how you are faring. If you are busy and need reminders, it is possible to subscribe to the newsletter and have weekly mail come to you. You can also check out the Facebook page where the school community engages. Learning has never been this fun and interesting.

A bonus resource that we can add to the 5 resources that every photographer should know about would be cameraseals, a website by David – a passionate photographer – that can help you earn the ropes around photography and its mastery.

A Few Last Words

Not everyone can be termed as photogenic. However, you can make the people facing your lens comfortable. Smile and have fun as you take your photos. Basic human psychology works.

Smile while engaging the people you want to take photos of. Respect their privacy as well because you don’t want to be intrusive. Your dressing as well will determine how comfortable otherwise. Just like a beautiful flower takes time to be noticeable, so will your photography.

Stay in the know and stay focused.

Put in the time and get involved in what the industry offers. Courtesy of the above 5 resources very photographer must know about, be sure to know more and get better each day. Snap away and enjoy the ride!
