Balance check through SMS banking

  • Open the browser on your device and visit to the official website of Central Bank of India.
  • There will be an option for registration under the ‘Online Banking’ or ‘Login’ section.
  • You’ll be asked to enter details like account number, card details, personal information, and sometimes an OTP (One Time Password) sent to your registered mobile number for verification.
  • Set up a user ID and password. Your password should be a combination of alphabets, numbers, and special characters for a secure password.
  • After registration, log in using the newly created credentials.
  • Banks often prompt users to set security questions, enable two-factor authentication, or link a registered device for added security. Do not forget the security questions and answers. It will help you recover your password in case you forget it.

Balance check through Mobile banking service

This is also one the convenient options. For this, you need to first set up the mobile banking app in your device. After setting up and linking your account the app,

  • Open the app with the pin that you created. Do not disclose this PIN code to anyone to avoid misuse.
  • Go to the account summary section and tap on it. Your account balance will be displayed on your device screen.

Activation of Central Bank of India mobile banking app

  • Download the Central bank of India mobile banking app, “Cent Mobile” and install it.
  • Open the app and register yourself.
  • To link your account to the app fill up with the required details such as your account number, registered mobile number, and any other information requested for verification purposes.
  • Then, you have to create your own login credentials (User ID and password) as per the app’s guidelines. The password should be strong which means it should contain an upper case, a lower case, a numeric value and it should have at least 8 characters.
  • After creating your credentials, you will get an OTP on your registered mobile number for verification. Enter this OTP to authenticate and the registration process.
  • After you are registered, log in using the credentials you’ve just set up.

Checking Account Balance via Passbook Update:

  • Head to any Central Bank of India branch carrying your passbook.
  • Request the branch staff to update your passbook.
  • Once updated, your account balance and recent banking activities will be printed in the passbook.

Checking Account Balance through ATM:

  • Visit ATM: Locate a nearby ATM and insert your CBI card into the card slot.
  • On-Screen Options: The ATM screen will display various options like cash withdrawal, mini statement, check balance, etc.
