A recruitment company is looking to link you with your new employee. They also have a number of well qualified people on their books. The difference is that they will send you CV’s and information regarding each of these people for you to consider.

A labour hire firm simply sends you a qualified member of staff.

The details sent to you by the recruitment company will be designed to show you potential candidates. You will then need to interview them and select the ones that suits your needs best.

At the end of the process you will be adding a new member of staff to your books; this means you’ll be liable for their welfare, insurance and other needs. They will become another permanent member of staff.

The recruitment company simply makes the process of finding new employees easier as they do the initial searching for you. After that it is no different to the standard recruitment of staff process.

Both options have their place in the workforce.

A labour hire firm will give you the specialist skills you need for just as long as you need them. But if you’re looking for long term help then you’ll need to use a reputable recruitment firm.
