The total in-hand salary of CGL is around Rs 25,000 to Rs 1, 50, 00. Moreover, it also depends on the cities the employee is working. These cities are categorized into X, Y, and Z. The pay level 4 salary in X cities is around Rs 39,555, whereas in the Z cities, it is Rs 33,675. The salary of pay level 8 in X cities is Rs 70,000 and in z cities is Rs 63,000/-. Aspirants applying to any of the CGL or CHSL posts need to stay updated with the package offered.

There are different jobs available under the SSC CGL, which includes- Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Assistant IB, and Assistant in Ministry of Railway, Assistant in ministry departments, Inspector, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector, Sub Inspector National Investigation Agency, Junior Accountant, and few others. The grade pay of each post is different. The usual grade pay is Rs 4,800 to Rs 2400/-.

Job Profile of each-

The Assistant Audit Officer’s job profile is to audit finance, performance analysis, and audit compliance. The audit officer is also responsible for checking if there is any wrongdoing at the ministry level. Often, the officer will get the field job where they will need to visit different places to perform auditing work.

  • Assistant Section officer

Candidates need to keep commutation between parliament and the central secretariat. Furthermore, the candidate is responsible for maintaining reports filed, drafting, and executing rules & regulations. He/she is required to locate and collect files or data essential for government necessity.

  • Income Tax Inspector

The income tax inspector will be working in two sections-

Ø  Assessment Section: In this, the inspector will carry out the deskwork and check the said person’s income tax. Besides, the inspector will need to take complete care of queries.

Ø  Non-Assessment Section: The inspector will have a field job. The individual will be responsible for conducting the raid and accumulate all the necessary details as proof. This is the most critical job, and the candidate will need to stay prepared mentally and physically to work long hours of field work.

  • Assistant Enforcement Officer

There will be both- field and a desk job. The officer will work in the office organizing reports, presentations, and other jobs in the desk job. The officer is also responsible for managing intra-department communication and replying to official communications.

In the field job, the officer will conduct raids. It will be a long day of raids, which can be draining. The job is to gather information and documents of the respective person.
