The 3 Ways To Get Ready For A Detox

There are times when modern living catches up with us and we start to feel run down and lethargic. Between the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the running around we do, eventually the body tells you that it’s hit its limit.

This means that it is time to go through a detox and get rid of the harmful toxins that have built up over time. You can’t really just go cold turkey and stop all at once. It begins with deciding to stop drinking and take some no hangover drops but it goes way beyond that. To make sure it is a successful detoxification you need to prepare your mind and body to go through the process.

In this article, we will go over several ways that you should be prepared so you get the most out of your detox.

1 – Don’t strive for perfection

Of course, you are setting out with good intentions and want to make sure that your detox actually works and that you can get back to feeling like yourself again. One thing that might hold you back from achieving that is that you want to do everything right. Your quest for perfection, however, may come at a price that you don’t reach your goal.

You might end up going out for a few beers in the middle of the detox and then feel like you have to give up since you didn’t stick with it. This isn’t a reason to give up. You can just get started again and move right on even though you had a setback.

Make this a part of your mindset from the beginning and you will have a better chance of success.

2 – Make a meal list

At the beginning of each week think about what your meals should be. Plan for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so that you don’t end up eating any fast food one day because you don’t have a plan for a meal for then.

Try to mix it up a bit but at the same time have ingredients that cross over into other meals. For instance, if you have a can of beans, half of it can go into a pasta fagioli and the other half can be put into a salad for lunch.

Then, make a shopping list for everything you need for each meal. This will help you stick with the detox through the entire week.

3 – Detox your mind

If you are in a mental state in which you have racing thoughts and are in a negative mood. You may be doing things like watching too much TV and thinking about past regrets too much. This type of behavior is going to make it hard to resist bad habits.

Try to reset your brain and get into the right mood. Do some meditation and yoga. Go for a walk in the woods. Read a book by the fire. This will help you calm your brain and detox it so you are able to allow your body to do its thing.
