Whenever a new child is born there is also an increase in the population of a country. To record this population increase there is a registration known as national population registrar made by the government which keeps a track of all the details about its citizens. There are some basic set of details that are required to be filled in the application form which is required to be submitted to the municipal office or the panch. This information must be correct both grammatically and legally. All the details must be true for information.

The information required is as follows:

  • The complete name of the person applying for the birth certificate must be given. However, it is totally optional. One can also get a new birth certificate with no child name.
  • The complete name of both the parents has to be filled. In the case of a single parent, it can be avoided.
  • The exact date of birth has to be given on the birth certificate, date of birth is usually verified with the document issued by the hospital.
  • The exact place where the child was born has to be filled in too.
  • The exact address of the parents is also required as proof of residence.

Fees required to get a new birth certificate:

The government has set some rules and guidelines according to which the whole process of getting a new birth certificate has to be followed. The basic protocol is to file the application for the registration of the birth certificate within a stipulated time period of 21 days. Those who are in any case unable to follow this basic protocol and apply late have to go through another type of processes such as:

  • I registered in the first 21 days after the birth of a child, the registration is free.
  • For every new copy that has been requested by an individual, an amount of Rs.20 has to be deposited. An additional charge is also added in the sum total of about INR 7 for the labour of searching through the old records.
  • Every state has its own rules for carrying out the process of birth certificate registration and the late fee may vary from state to state. The whole process can easily be checked online.

In the rare case of non-availability of birth certificate, there is an official proof which is generated by the governmental authorities. The document is only provided after checking the whole record thoroughly and finding no registered record of the birth of a person. The records are checked by the registrar and only after proper examination, there is an option to apply for a new birth certificate. This is a special case of reissuing the birth certificate under government regulations.
