Your “Must See” Places in Greece

Your “Must See” Places in Greece

Considering how much people love to travel, especially for holidays, bonding, and of course, for tourism, we all will agree that Greece has long been people’s’ favorite with its beautiful elements ranging from mountains, the seas, and the lowlands. I will not fail to mention the beautiful beaches located in Greece. Red Beach (Akrotiri) in Santorini is my favorite. You should check it out someday.

Statistics have shown that Greece has been one of the most visited places for tourism. You can’t agree less having in mind the beautiful blue waters, the friendly climate, the over 2000 islands, the fascinating historical sites ranging from castles to ancient temples and aesthetic architectural edifices

However, we have mapped out some places in Greece that you have to visit to make your stay as exciting as you expected.

Santorini:

This is where my favorite beach: Red Beach (Akrotiri) in Santorini is located. The red beach of Akrotiri has to be the most attractive beach on earth. The redness of the beach is as a result of its titular red-hued sand caused by the sand’s composition of black and red volcanic rock from the nearby Santorini caldera.

One cannot say he/she has visited Greece without experiencing the exotic Santorini beach. Thousands are drawn to the beauty of this island every year and leave knowing that there is nowhere else like it.

Rhodes:

Most tourists would agree with me that Rhodes Island is a tourism delight. This island features the colossus of Rhodes which has been declared as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It features the grand master’s palace, which was destroyed in 1856 by an explosion but was rebuilt in a medieval style, the ancient city of Kamiros known to be the fascinating ruins of Greece and the castle built to shield the area from enemy attacks in 1408.

Rhodes contains so many fascinating sites and, of course, ancient architectural feats. It is a great place to visit.

Delphi:

Delphi is a town on Mount Parnassus, Greece. In it stands the remains of the famous Temple of Apollo. Also, an ancient theater and the sanctuary of Athena Pronaia are situated in this beautiful town. You should definitely find time to see it whenever you go to Greece.

Also, the tasty, classical, and traditional cuisine and dishes such as the tzatziki and the melitzanosalata fava is an added touch to the delightful memories you would leave Greece with. Activities such as climbing the mount Olympus, exploring the Samaria gorge shouldn’t be left out of your to-do list as well.

This incredible country offers a perfect mix of relaxation, culture, and history.  It will be considered a wasted adventure if you have been to Greece and have not experienced some of these beautiful places nor tasted these cuisines.

A visit to Greece is one that you will never forget, and this country will draw you back time and time again.
